The Contracts Department of Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, San Diego (FISCSD) intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, “Only one responsible source and no other suppliers or services will satisfy agency requirements”, with Edgeone LLC dba EdgeTech, 1141 Holland Drive, Boca Raton FL. The side scan sonar is for use onboard submarines for qualitative views of overhead ice canopies and identifying surfaceable features. This is a follow-on system (identical to an existing system) which complies with NAVSEA approved technical drawings required to support system installation. No other supplier of side scan sonar systems uses the same instrumentation components. The requested side scan sonar is designed and built per NAVSEA approved plans. The Contractor shall provide the following: ROV Mounted 4200-FS Side Scan Sonar, to include: 1 EA DISCOVER topside processor (software only) installed on GFE hardware; 1 EA 4200-FS digital ! link electronics in 19” rack mountable case; 1 EA 4200-FS sonar electronics chassis; 1 EA 1000 meter stainless steel pressure housing with endcaps and connectors (includes pressure testing); 2 EA 120/410 khz 4200-FS transducer arrays 21” set only; 4200-FS spare parts kit, spare 120/410 khz 4200-FS sidescan array, roll/pitch/heading sensor. FISCSD intends to award a firm fixed price type contract. This action is being issued under the authority of FAR Part 13.5 utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures for commercial items/services under FAR Part 12. This is not a request for quote or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement.
