- 50mm Target Practice - Tracer (TP-T): The 50mm TP-T is a cost effective training cartridge that replicates the ballistic flight of the HEAB-T.
- 50mm High Explosive Air Burst - Tracer (HEAB -T): The 50mm HEAB-T is a tactical cartridge used to defeat personnel threats in the open, defilade and under the cover of urban structures.
- 50mm Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot - Tracer (APFSDS-T): The 50mm APFSDS-T is a tactical cartridge used to defeat current and projected future peer armored materiel threats.
In exchange for the contractor providing the cartridges at no cost, the Government will bear the cost to test the cartridge(s) in accordance with the respective 50mm TP-T TDP, 50mm APFSDS-T, or 50mm HEAB-T performance specification. Each contractor will be provided the test results of its cartridge(s). The contractor is responsible for acquiring the appropriate documents for shipment of the cartridges.
NOTE: Testing of the cartridges will be immediately and permanently suspended in the event that a critical and/or major failure occurs. Offerors will pay to have the remaining ammunition shipped back or demilitarized.
The Army is not requiring current sources to participate.
SPECIFICATION: The ammunition must be compatible for use in the XM913 weapon.
The TDP and Performance Specifications are Distribution D (Authorized to the Department of Defense and DoD contractors only). To obtain these documents, contractors are required to submit an AMSTA-AR 1350 Technical Data Request Questionnaire, a DD 2345 Military Critical Technical Data Agreement and a fully executed Non-Disclosure and Non-Use Agreement. Contractors also must be registered with the U.S. Canada Joint Certification Office to obtain a copy of the TDP (See www.dlis.dla.mil/jcp/ for instructions and information).
Sources interested in supplying 50mm ammunition should adequately describe their experience in medium caliber development, production and testing.
PLANNED ACQUISITION: The Government is seeking sources interested in entering into a CRADA.
