The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Eastern Regional Research Center, Food Safety and Intervention Technologies (FSIT) Research Unit in Wyndmoor, intends to negotiate solely with 3M in St. Paul, MN to furnish, deliver (FOB) Destination 3M^TM Petrifilm^TM Plates. These plates consist of: 110 cases of Aerobic Count (PF/AC) Catalog #6406, 40 cases of Enterobacteriaceae Count (PF/EB) Catalog # 6421, and 100 cases of E. coli Count (PF/EC) Catalog # 6414. USDA has an Material Transfer Agreement with 3M to do comparison study using Petrifilm. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 (current as of FAC 2005-43), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The NAICS is 325998. The Solicitation number is 254-KR0032 and 102-BN005 and is issued as a Request For Quotation (RFQ). Companies with the demonstrated capability of providing this equipment must submit a descriptive statement, including descriptive literature, specifically addressing the equipment=s component=s and availability. In the event multiple quotes are received, the quotes will be evaluated on the basis of lowest price, technically acceptable. In order to be considered technically acceptable, the item must meet specifications and compatibility requirements. The statement and literature must be submitted to the Contracting Office Address within 5 days of publication of this notice. This is not a request for proposal.
