The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) intends to award a sole-source procurement with the Polytec Inc of Tustin, CA for the procurement of upgrades to the Doppler Laser Vibrometer System, Mdl PSV-100. Upgrade will provide testing support for the Acoustic Signature Technology Dept at the NSWCCD. The equipment and software included in this procurement is specifically for the purpose of upgrading the current laser vibrometer system. These products are proprietary and available only from Polytec (the original equipment manufacturer). The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(i)(A). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
