1. General InformationThe United States Mint (USM) in interested in obtaining information related to gaining more wide-spread distribution of the Presidential $1 Coin. To that end, the USM is interested in obtaining information from manufacturers, distributors and/or contractors regarding potential avenues for the United States Mint to lease/rent dollar coin dispensing machines from entities who would be expected to acquire, install, stock and maintain the machines. Change Machines must be capable of changing all denominations of U.S. currency $1, $5, $10, and $20. Change Machines must display the authorized, USM emblem. Change machines will be placed in areas with controlled (business hours) public access. Dollar Coins will be distributed through the normal distribution channels, Federal Reserve Board banks and will be the property of the contractor(s). Initial installation in seven (7) U.S. Treasury facilities are currently being considered, specifically in: Denver, CO; Fort Knox, KY; Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; Washington, DC (2 locations); and West Point, NY. Additional future locations anticipated by the USM include Federal Government buildings and/or commercial locations; however, the USM is requesting input from contractors on other potential venues. Future locations to be specified by the United States Mint or can be proposed by the contractor(s) subject to Mint approval. The objectives of this RFI are: 1) to identify commercial vendors that could provide this service; 2) to invite industry to submit information that will allow the USM to prepare competitive specifications that best meets the needs of the USM. 2. Data/Information Request: Contractors are invited to submit written capability statements and/or potential solutions to include open market pricing information. Submission should include documentation supporting capability statements. Information may include brochures, information regarding past performance etc. Data provided will not be returned. 3.
