IFB 306591 2910 BUS YARD REPAIRS Site Visit: November 6, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. Pre-Bid Conference: November 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Bids Due: November 23, 2020, prior to 3:00:00 p.m. Contractor shall provide all Labor, Equipment & Materials to make repairs to the bus yard at 2910 E. 5th Street, Austin, Texas. WORK REQUIREMENTS -Concrete Foam Jack/Lift Repair (Lot 1) 1. The contractor must research and be responsible for any permits or inspections required by City or State code. 2. Work with site transit service provider, MV Transit, to schedule all work. 3. Work closely with all involved to ensure no disruption to service. 4. Work with service provider to add metal plates to the areas to protect expansion joint at bus drive crossings (when needed). 5. The concrete jacking vendor will repair the expansion joints affected by their work, if not the same contractor. 6. Follow best practice and manufactures specifications to replace all existing backer rod and sealant affected by concrete lifting. 7. Submit Foam density, primer, backer rod and sealant for approval before commencing work, expansion joint repair must be replaced following ASTM industry standards and manufacturers recommendations for concrete expansion joints. 8. Foam jack approximately 15,200 square feet of concrete at an average of 12 lbs. of foam product to fill and replace road base erosion to stabilize concrete pads. Contractor to field verify product quantities needed for the project. 9. Contract must provide in writing, a minimum five (5) year warranty on installation and materials. 10. Contractor must schedule final walkthrough with project manager to resolve any punchout items. 11. Contractor to provide foam product density and type including product amounts required for the project. WORK REQUIREMENTS – Concrete Expansion Joint Sealant Repair/Replacement (Lot 2) 1. The contractor must research and be responsible for any permits or inspections required by City or State code. 2. Coordinate with Transit Service Provider, MV Transit, to schedule all work. 3. Work with vendor and service provider on the areas to be affected by bus traffic to ensure no disruption to service. 4. Work with service provider to add metal plates to the areas to protect expansion joint at bus drive crossings (when needed). 5. The concrete jacking vendor will repair the expansion joints affected by their work, if not the same contractor. 6. Follow best practice and manufactures specifications to remove all existing backer rod and sealant out of all horizontal/ vertical expansion joints. 7. Submit primer, backer rod and sealant for approval before commencing work, all Horizontal and vertical joint repairs must be replaced following industry standards and manufacturers recommendations. The sealant must meet ASTM C719&D412 standards. 8. Repair approximately: 16,000 linear feet. Note: All Linear footage is estimated and needs to be field verified by contractor. 9. Contract must provide in writing a minimum five (5) year warranty on installation and materials. 10. Contractor must schedule final walkthrough with project manager to resolve any punchout items.
