There is currently a large Army reset program in the works and any delay in the procurement process will impact readiness of the FMTV fleet. These vehicles are those that are needed in support of SWA. The current contract with S&S is helping us maintain a readiness rate of 90%. With the contract currently in place with S&S, they can pull items from the current production line to support these urgent requirements if needed, and can supply these items with a delivery of 2-5-10 days (depending on Priority code) directly to the customer. It would be in the Governments best interest if this contract was extended from June 25, 2006 through December 25, 2006.
