The Department of the Interior, Minerals Management Service intends to award a sole source purchase order to Land Rover Windhoek. This non-competitive action is being issued by GovWorks under the authority of the Department of the Interior Franchise Fund on behalf of The African Development Foundation. This action is being processed in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source, and solicited in accordance with FAR 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The African Development Foundation has a requirement to provide a vehicle for the new ADF office in Windhoek, Namibia. The vehicle will be a Land Rover Discovery S 4.0 Litre V8 from a local dealer in Windhoek. This new Land Rover will be equipped with an aluminum construction petrol engine with five bearing crankshaft, Electonic engine management systems with eight injectors with permanent four wheel drive and traction control, hill descent control; seven forward facing seats and right hand drive. The Land Rover has self- leveling suspension, widened track, chassis and steering refinements, 4 channel ABS system in conjunction with electronic brake force distribution. Other accessories required are side runners, rubber mates, cd changer; load space mat, tinted windows and the CD and side runners are to be installed. The local purchase will ensure better follow-up maintenance. The intent of this synopsis is for informational purposes only. This is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals in US dollars received within 5 working days after the date of publication of this synopsis.
