USACE, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Contracting Office intends to issue a sole source award to Applied Research Associates, Inc. (Vertek), 250 Beanville Road, Randolph, VT, 05060-9301.

The Geotechnical Engineering and Geosciences Branch (GEGB) has a need to purchase a seismic beam. Vertek is the sole provider for this equipment and no other company provides equipment that works with the CPT system owned by the Government.

The Government intends to procure from only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), test program for commercial items (section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996). This will be a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures per FAR 13. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation to the Contract Specialist by 5:00 PM CST, Wednesday, April 13, 2011.
