The Marine Corps Systems Command is looking for information from industry on their trailer capability. The Marine Corps intends to procure replacements for the M105 cargo trailer, M149 water tank trailer, and M353 utility trailer. The replacements, to be known as the Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) Trailers (MTVR-T), will augment and complement the capability of the recently fielded MTVR truck over its mission profile of 70% off-road and 30% on-road. The MTVR-T will transport ammunition, break-bulk, engineer equipment, generators, air compressors, welders, communication equipment, and, potentially, dimensionally standard containers. In addition, the MTVR-T will deliver and dispense water at the unit level. The current acquisition objective quantity is over 5,100 trailers. In preparation for release of a Request for Proposal (RFP) in early Fiscal Year (FY) 2004, a draft MTVR-T Performance Specification is available. Industry is encouraged to provide comments on the draft performance specification and information on their capabilities through 15 August 2003. The Marine Corps will use the information gathered from industry to refine the MTVR-T performance specification and acquisition process. The draft MTVR-T Performance Specification is posted on the Marine Corps System Command (MARCORSYSCOM) business opportunities home page at http://www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/sites/ctq/opport.asp. Additional program information will be posted as it becomes available. The point of contact for this program is Robin J. Kuschel. Responses to this request for information should be sent to: Command General, Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: Robin J. Kuschel, 2200 Lester Street, Quantico, VA, 22134.
