NA This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are be ing requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is DAAE20-02-R-0235. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price contract for two Enclosed Gooseneck Cargo Trailers. Description: The interior length of the trai ler’s lower deck must be at least 19 feet. The interior width of the trailer must be at least 96 inches (8 ft), and the interior floor to ceiling height of the lower deck must be at least 78 inches (6.5 ft). The trailer must be fully enclosed, with a side- mounted personnel door and a rear door that folds down to serve as a loading ramp. The trailer must be able to haul approximately 8000 lbs of payload. The Army’s M1078 2.5 Ton Standard Cargo Truck will tow it. On the M1078 a 2 5/16” ball hitch will be mou nted on the cargo deck 10 inches ahead of the rear axle, approximately 48inches from the rear of the truck with the outside width of the cargo bed being 96 inches. The cargo deck is 63(5.25 ft) inches above ground level in an unloaded M1078, and 60(5 ft) i nches above ground level on a fully loaded M1078. The ball center will be 4 inches above the cargo deck. The cargo deck side panels and rear gate can be lowered and/or removed. The M1078 has a towed-load capacity of 12,000 pounds and has pneumatic hook-u ps available for air or air/hydraulic brakes. FOB destination with shipment to Rock Island, IL. Inspection and acceptance shall be in accordance with commercial practices; i.e., Certificate of Conformance. The contractor's signed certificate shall be attached on the top copy of the Standard Form 1449 and distributed to the payment office in block 16 of the SF 1449. In addition, a copy of the signed certificate shall also be attached to or entered on copies of the SF 1449 accompanying the shipment. The certificate shall confirm that supplies or service s conform in all respects with all contract requirements, and all statements on the SF 1449. The delivery is due by 30 September 2002. The contractor shall provide the company's standard commercial warranty coverage for all products furnished under this c ontract.
