The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to procure a quantity of thirty-two (32) stub axle railroad wheel assemblies. Assemblies consists of 1 small diameter railroad wheel, hardened steel axle, lubricated roller bearings with dust cover, and two axle boxes or pillow blocks on either end of the axle.
Stub Axle Assembly shall be rated for 24,000 lbs minimum. Axle Boxes/Pillow blocks must include 4 each through holes for fasteners, minimum diameter þ inches. Wheel shall have a single flange with a hardened tread. Wheel diameter shall be between 12 and 16 inches. Supplier shall provide material certifications and hardness test report with the assemblies. Stub Axle Assemblies shall arrive assembled, lubricated, painted for corrosion protection (no specific color), and ready for installation. The operating speed is 10 revolutions per minute and operating temperature shall be 0F to +200F. The operating environment is standard outdoor conditions in Virginia.
These items will be acquired utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
The closing date is 10:00 AM ET on 17 AUGUST 2011. The anticipated award date is 26 AUGUST 2011. All items are to be priced FOB-Destination, Dahlgren, VA.
