In order to efficiently manage multiple large scale habitat restoration projects the District seeks to hire four (4) full crews that meet the specifications described herein to complete the 2021 invasive plant management projects. The District will supply all herbicides, surfactants, and water conditioning agents. The Work of this project shall include all labor and equipment to complete control of select invasive plants, including, but not limited to: Reed Canary Grass (Phalaris arundinacea), Teasel (Dipsacus spp.), Cattails (Typha spp.), Common Reed (Phragmites australis), Japanese Knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum), Leafy spurge (Euphorbia esula), Fig Buttercup (Ranunculus ficaria), Crown vetch (Coronilla varia), Common goldenrod (Solidago altissima) and Oriental Bittersweet (Celastrus orbiculatus) at various Forest Preserves in Lake County. More than three quarters of the Work Sites include State of Illinois Nature Preserves and other high quality areas. The Work shall be performed at numerous Forest Preserves throughout Lake County including, but not limited to: Wadsworth Savanna, Van Patten Woods, Rollins Savanna, Heron Creek, Ryerson Woods, Grainger Woods, Mac Arthur Woods, Captain Daniel Wright Woods, Gander Mountain, Greenbelt, Lake Carina, Raven Glen, Ray Lake, Lakewood, Prairie Wolf Slough, Fort Sheridan, Kettle Grove, Cuba Marsh, Almond Marsh, Sun Lake, Independence Grove, Buffalo Creek, Grassy Lake, Bluebird Meadow, and Lyons Woods Forest Preserves. A Vendor submitting a bid (Proposal Pg 1 through Bid Bond, along with any addenda, if issued) must adequately identify its bid and submit it on or before the Bid Submittal Deadline. Bids shall be submitted as outlined within the Invitation for Bidder’s Proposal Section 6.
