This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice, and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested, and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). The RFQ number is DTCG80-03-Q-3FA976. This RFQ is issued under full and open competition. The RFQ incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-09. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 332510, and the size standard is 750 employees. Requirement is for one (1) Raised QAWT hatch 24" x 30"/12" coaming, steel, spring balanced, hinged short side, ZZ R 765 Silicone (orange) gasket, Ext-padlock capable, stainless steel knife edge, hinges& hand wheel, coating flame sprayed aluminum (exterior). Four (4) Raised water tight hatch 30" x 60"/6" coaming steel, 11 drop bolts, spring loaded, hinged short side, ZZ R 765 gasket, with 25" flush scuttle with scuttle orientation same as hatch hinge/inorganic zinc & form 150 primer/interior use. Delivery will be FOB destination to Coast Guard Cutter THUNDER BAY, C/O Coast Guard Station, 54 Tilson Avenue, Rockland, Maine 04841-3498 , 9 weeks ARO or sooner. Acceptance of the units will be at destination. All interested, responsible, firms should submit their quotation no later than Feburary 25, 2003, 12:00 p.m. EDT, to U.S. Coast Guard, MLCLANT (vpl-4), 300 E. Main Street, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102, ATTN: Douglas G. Landau. Facsimile copies will be accepted at (757) 628-4676. The contractor shall extend to the government the full coverage of commercial sale warranty provided such warranty is available at no additional cost to the government. This will be a Firm-Fixed Price purchase order. The Government anticipates awarding one purchase order resulting from this combined synopsis/solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to this synopsis/solicitation will offer the best value to the Government, price and other factors considered. Quotations will be evaluated in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-2-Evaluation of quotations or offers.
