NAICS Code: 336612 This amendment was necessary to provide clarification to the following questions posed by a potential bidder: Ques 1: The depth rating for the proposed ROV is 1,000 feet, but the umbilical length is listed at 500 feet. Although we are able to provide a shorter umbilical length, it will be an underutililzation of the ROV's specifications. And indeed, if you only have a need for the 500 feet umbilical, we have an ROV that has a 500 feet depth rating, similar features to the deeper rated ROV, that would result in a more cost-effective system. Please verify with the solicitation author the requested ROV depth rating and umbilical length. Answer: Even though the ROV's depth rating is 1000 feet, at this point in time we are only going to utilize the minimum amount of reel (500 feet). Even so we still want the capability of being able to do deeper work if the need arises. Ques 2: The solicitation requests three types of operational cameras. In regard to the "rear facing movable fixed focus color camera," is maneuverability needed during operations or will changing a fixed mounting prior to deployment fit the bill? Answer: The rear camera's function is to essentially back out the ROV if it becomes entangled. Maneuverability is needed. Ques 3: Are you looking for a vectored thrust vehicle with three axis of operational control or an ROV with four thrusters that provides forward, vertical, and lateral movement? Answer: We need a ROV that can move forward, backwards, side to side and up and down. What's more important is a ROV that can handle strong currents and have the capabilities to pull/link the umbilical at a long length. No other changes are made to this solicitation.
