The government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). The proposed source is Kurt J. Lesker Company, Clairton, PA. The purchase is for a 2" Platinum Sputtering Target for use in the AFIT/ENG plasma deposition system. This acquisition is in direct support of the Air Force Institute of Technology and its directive to graduate students with experience using the latest in science and technology. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any information received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
