The 410th Contracting Support Brigade, Regional Contracting Office at Soto Cano AB, Honduras is issuing a notice of intent to sole source set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 13.501(a). This is not a request for proposals or quotes.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this notification is the Government's intent to negotiate a sole source award to Magnum Base Industries in San Pedro Sula, Honduras for one (1) customized fiber glass low hull medical response river boat capable of transporting 30 personnel to conduct disaster preparedness projects in support of the Government of Honduras (GoH). The boat will provide a means for the GoH and other first responders to conduct medical response, evacuation or distribution of critical humanitarian supplies not only in the aftermath of flooding events, but throughout the year. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR TECHNICAL OR COST PROPOSALS.

DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: USSOUTHCOM and the US Military Group Honduras are conducting disaster preparedness projects in support of the Government of Honduras. Several municipalities are located in flood plains of the La Mosquitia area, and are subject to major flooding episodes with a history of devastating results. These results include the inability to provide critical relief supplies to isolated areas due to flooding.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, if any interested party would like to be considered, please submit a written statement indicating your interest as well as a brief corporate capability to that supports legal rights and unique technical qualification and experience to deliver and fulfill this requirement. Responses to this announcement must be received no later than 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Thursday, September 6, 2013. No telephone requests will be honored.
