The Maritime Administration (MARAD) is seeking interested sources to supply one complete ship-set of lifeboats and accompanying davit systems (two lifeboat/davit systems total) for the MARAD-owned Schoolship STATE OF MICHIGAN (ex-USNS PERSISTENT, T-AGOS 6). The lifeboats are to be provided as Government-furnished Equipment to a yet to be selected shipyard performing a major conversion of the vessel to take place in 2004-2005. This is not a request for proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not reimburse any contractor for any costs incurred as a result of participation in this survey. In addition, participation in this survey does not guarantee that your company will be able to participate in the resulting solicitation. The information provided will aid MARAD in the development of the acquisition strategy for this requirement, and will aid in the determination of any set-asides. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) code to be used under the resultant solicitation will be 336612 "Boat Building".
