The US Air Force Space and Missiles Systems Center, Acquisition Directorate is seeking sources of a mature, fully space qualified USB transponder that provides the capability for launch, early orbit, on orbit, anomaly, and post life operation of satellites. The USB transponder will be integrated onto DOD satellites in conjunction with the SGLS transponders to enable dual band operations. The transponder should be 1) available for purchase as a commercial off-the-shelf unit with no R&D, 2) proven in operational use with a successful track record, 3) easily integrated into DOD satellites that are already designed, 4) light weight, 5) require minimum physical space and power, and 6) be cost competitive. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their interest by providing technical specifications, test data, history of units sold, identification of current customers, and anticipated pricing. This is a request for information and does not obligate the government to procure. Information submitted should be limited to no more than 10 pages. These should be sent, if available, at no cost to the US Government, no later than 12 May 2005 to Mr. Ron Bartolome (
