The OEM has been determined to be not suitable for the current application.
The current faceplate requirement is a ruggedized version to the extent that it would meet harsh environmental conditions including Mil-Std 810F Dust procedure I (blowing) and III (settling), Rain Drip, Salt Fog, and Bench Handling. Sun Dial and Panel devloped a product at their expense using aluminum instead of composite. (Developmental Costs). The customer has an immediate mission need, and for anyone else would have to go thru developmental costs and testing approval would not be acceptable.
