The United States Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Central Region Acquisition Division, (CRAD), Kansas City, MO., intends to solicit quotes for the acquisition of two Garmin 347 Panel Mounted Intercom Systems and installation of the systems in Aero Commander N47RF and N51RF. Also required are the installation of government supplied SatTalk 2 Satellite Phone Audio controller, and Bose Headset Adapters in both Aero Commanders. This notice is hereby issued as RFQ No. WC133M-08-RQ-0172. The intended procurement is for supplies and services which the Government intends to acquire under the guidelines of FAR Part 12, Commercial Items. The justification for use of a Brand Name Item for the Garmin 347 intercom system is to maintain aircraft standardization. This system is currently installed in similar aircraft for NOAA, Aircraft Operations Center and installation of this system will allow pilots to move between platforms to best prevent confusion or complications with the operations of electronics in the aircraft. This is a Small Business Set-aside.
