The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a sole source modification to contract N00019-00-C-0298 for repair services for the Common Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Digital Transponder (CXP) AN/APX-117 and AN/APX-118 test articles and for engineering support services for the investigation of performance requirements on the CXP transponder and Mode S specification changes. BAE is the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the CXP and is, therefore, the only known firm with the necessary knowledge, data, equipment and experience to fulfill this requirement. Therefore this acquisition shall be negotiated on a sole source basis with BAE Systems IESI, 450 Pulaski Road, Greenlawn, NY 11740. See Note 22.
