The NTSB proposes to acquire a Honeywell Golden Chassis Combination Flight Recoder/ Honeywell part number DVDR 980-6025-001 (Air Transport Combined Recorder) and the Smiths Industries model 3257A1, part number 175497-01-0, on a sole source basis with Honeywell International, Inc.. The decision to acquire this unit on a sole source basis is because Honeywell International, Inc/Smith Industries is the manufacturer and owner of this unit. The basis for using "Other Than Full and Open Competition" for this procurement is 41 USC 253 (c)(1) and FAR Subpart 5.302-1 (Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will satisfy Agency requirements).
