The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Special Operations Acquisition and Logistics Center, Directorate of Procurement, intends to enter into a sole source contract with Northrop Grumman Corporation, Defensive System Division in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304c(1) and FAR 6.302-1; âOnly one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements.â The overall objective of this effort will be to continue to provide depot level repair (including parts) of Special Operation Forces (SOF) unique AN/AAQ-24 Directional Infrared Countermeasures (DIRCM) Line Replaceable Units (LRU). This effort will be a continuation of the Contractor Logistics Support currently provided under the original United Kingdom Ministry of Defense managed contract, AES3b/1017L. Northrop Grumman's Defensive System Division is the original equipment manufacturer of the AN/AAQ-24 DIRCM system, and is the only contractor who has the technical data and equipment necessary to perform this effort. This effort also includes a requirement for the provisioning of long-lead parts (SRU) lay-in to support the initiation of this repair effort for the SOF-unique AN/AAQ-24 DIRCM system. This system entered the production phase in September 1999. USSOCOM contemplates a five year Indefinite-Delivery Indefinite-Quantity type contract with firm-fixed price, time & material, and cost-reimbursable contract line items.
