The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Raytheon Systems Company, Sensors and Electronic Systems, Goleta, CA, for the production of approximately six (6) AN/ALE-50A Integrated Multi-Platform Launch Controllers (IMPLC), associated supplies, services, and technical data. This is a follow-on to the initial production contract. Units procured under this contract will support ongoing requirements of the F/A-18E/F Integrated Defensive Countermeasure (IDECM) system as well as ongoing installation of IMPLCs into other platforms that use the AN/ALE-50 system. Raytheon, as sole designer, developer, integrator, and manufacturer of the IMPLC, has the requisite knowledge, experience and technical data required to successfully complete production without causing an unacceptable break in the delivery of IMPLCs, resulting in F/A-18E/Fs being delivered short of required equipment.
