The Department of the Navy, Naval Air Systems Command, intends to sole-source contract with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company for the fiscal year (FY) 2004 T45 Training System (T45TS). The subject acquisition consists of fifteen (15) T-45C “Goshawk” aircraft, structural fatigue life tracking, engine monitoring, engineering support activities, reliability and maintainability program, quality assurance program, test activities, ancillary equipment (to include (20) wing pylons, (10) centerline pylons and (10) baggage pods) ; operational and instrument flight trainers, ground training system support, integration and related analysis, spares and repair parts, integrated logistics support activities, technical manuals, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and various data requirements. McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the designer, developer and sole integrator of the T45TS and is the only known source with the experience and technical data necessary for the performance of this effort.
