It is the intent of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) to negotiate on a sole source basis with Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company (LMSSC), 1111 Lockheed Martin Way, Sunnyvale, CA 94089 for continued development of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) development-phase program. The proposed acquisition is directed to LMSSC pursuant to the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The THAAD system is comprised of the following components: Interceptor; THAAD Fire Control and Communication; Launcher; Radar; and Peculiar Support Equipment.
