The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate a sole source production contract with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516, for the Harpoon Weapon System. The items to be procured include various components and other support as follows: Weapon Control Indicator Panel (WCIP), Data Computer Processing (DPC), other standard and unique spares, ship installation support, provisioning, publications, training and test equipment in support of various FMS customers. McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the designer, developer, and sole producer of the Harpoon Ship and Submarine Launch Control Systems for USN and FMS customers. As such, McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the only source possessing the unique knowledge, experience, and technical data, which are required to perform the described effort in the required time frame. A firm fixed price contract is contemplated. See Note 22 and 26.
