26 Nov 07: Planned acquisition H92222-07-R-1020 is cancelled pending revalidation of market research, technical specifications and budget requirements.HQ USSOCOM intends to solicit for and award a contract for a High Explosive (HE) shape charge system consisting of a Conical Shaped Charge, a ceramic liner and a case. The Conical Shaped Charge contains the explosive material LX-14, a critical item, weighing 252 grams and is 60mm in diameter and 57mm in length. The liner, also a critical component, is made of a yttria stabilized zirconia ceramic. The case has a diameter of 76.2mm and a length of 80mm and is made of Polycarbonate material with no special manufacturing considerations. The RFP will be released with a link to FedTeds.gov where the specifications, drawings, technical assembly data and test requirements may be accessed. This will be a build-to-specification procurement, with an initial First-Article production quantity of approximately 9 shaped charges procured for contractor testing. Initial production quantity is estimated at 100 units up to a maximum of 300.
