The US Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command-Picatinny has a requirement for the manufacture and delivery of 100 Primer Feed Mechanism (PFM) covers under the Lightweight 155mm Howitzer (LW155) program. The major component of the PFM cover is a rotational molded polyethylene shell, with a metal sleeve integrally molded. The Government will offer existing tooling to make the mold. Pictures of the tooling will be sent with the RFP. Offerors may request a visit to inspect the tooling at Picatinny, NJ prior to the proposal submission deadline. In addition to the cover, there is a foam cushion, rubber gasket, and various other small metal parts. Delivery of the first 20 PFM covers will be required two months after contract award. A Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract is contemplated, and is anticipated to be awarded to the lowest-priced, technically acceptable responsible offeror in accordance with the forthcoming Request for Proposal (RFP).
