The U.S. Secret Service (USSS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Meggitt Defense Systems, Minneapolis MN, for the purchase of Bullet Trap Repairs at the Post Office Ranges. The bullet traps are the product of Meggitt Defense Systems Caswell, 2540 Second Street NE, Minneapolis MN 55418-3412. All repair components must be supplied by Meggitt Defense Systems Caswell. All components must be installed in accordance with Meggitt Defense Systems Caswell instructions. The contractor must contract with Meggitt Defense Systems Caswell to supply guidance and inspection services for the installation of new bullet trap components and the repair of existing bullet trap components to remain. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 6.302 Circumstances permitting other than full and open competition. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement on a full and open competitive basis upon receipt of responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This is not a request for competitive quotes.
