The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with Nordic Ammunition Company, Sweden, under the approved authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). This action is for the manufacture and delivery of 5.56mm AP with a quantity of 4,238,000 for the base buy and the following option quantities: Opt 1-1,421,000; Opt 2-1,390,000; Opt 3-338,000; and Opt 4-798,000. For the 7.62mm AP a quantity of 1,069,000 for the base buy and the following option quantities: Opt 1-956,000; Opt 2-834,000; Opt 3-1,232,000; and Opt 4-990,000. First Article Testing (FAT) is required to be completed within 60 days from date of contract award. Delivery of the base quantities is required to be made within 120 days from successful completion of FAT. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. See Note 22.
