This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.

TARDEC management has committed to operating their testing laboratories under a common Laboratory Quality Management System (LQMS). Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories is the industry standard for laboratory quality management. TARDEC has used ISO/IEC 17025 to implement their quality system and to improve their ability to consistently produce valid results. This standard is about competence, and receiving accreditation is simply a formal recognition of a demonstration of this competence. TARDEC currently has five laboratories that are ISO/IEC 17025 accredited. TARDEC's goal is to accredit additional laboratories as well as maintain the ISO 17025 accreditation for the laboratories that have been accredited.
