The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity intends to negotiate a firm fixed-price contract with Gliead Sciences, Foster City CA. The requirement entails a supply of FDA licensed drug product Vistide, 75mg/ml, 5mL single use vial (NSN61958-0101-01). We are requesting to purchase 48 vials. This contract shall be issued using other than full and open competition procedures in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). Gilead is uniquely qualified to provide this product because Gilead is the only manufacturer of this injectible pharmaceutical. There are no other resources. This is not a request for competitive proposals but parties purporting to have the requisite credentials to supply Vistide must finish in writing, factual information, which clearly supports and demonstrates evidence of such abilities.
