In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 5, this synopsis is posted for the U.S. Department of Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE), New Orleans, LA. This synopsis is to accounce that the BOEMRE intends to award a sole source acquisition to Ft. Valley State University, Ft. Valley, GA in accordace with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and not other supplies or services will satisfy BOEMRE's requirements. The university will use the funds provided by BOEMRE (and other entities) for scholarships, travel and transportation of students who are in the Mathematics, Science, and Engineering Academy (MESA) Program. A total of $50,000 will be provided to the university. The anticipated award date is February 22, 2011. This is NOT a request for competitive quotations. The intent of this Special Noice is for informational purposes only. However, and and all information received by the point of contact listed (POC) below by close of business on February 18, 2011, will be considered by the BOEMRE. A determination by the BOEMRE not to compete this action based on this notice is solely within the discretion of BOEMRE.
