On or about September 3, 2004 this office will issue a Request for Proposal for a 5-Year Firm Fixed Price Continuing Authority Contract for Pallid Sturgeon Population Assessment and Related Pallid Sturgeon Studies under NAICS Code 541690, in support of the US Army Corps of Engineers and its customers. The study area is Segment 7 (Gavins Point Dam to Lower Ponca Bend) of the Missouri River. The Government will award one contract from Solicitation Number W9128F-04-Q-0031 with an estimated total value of $3.0 Million, for basic work and two (2) options, which will not exceed a total of five (5) years. This contract will be a sole source award to the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks which has the unique capabilities required to provide these specialized services in support of endangered species recovery efforts. Since the inception of these recovery efforts the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks has partnered with the U.S. Corps of Engineers and other State and Federal Agencies w ho perform Pallid Sturgeon recovery work along their respective segments of the river. The South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks was selected for this award because they possess the biological experience, expertise, knowledge, and refined techni ques to conduct the Pallid Sturgeon Population Assessment and Biological Surveys on the Missouri River System.
