The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity has a requirement for a Blanket Purchase Order (BPA) to provide Yellow Fever Vaccinne in 5 dose vials. The Food & Drug Administration is the only federal agency that has the authority to regulate dru gs for medical use. Their responsibility is to ensure that products marketed to the public are safe and effective. As such, only those manufacturers on the approved FDA list are able to sell those approved products to the public. Currently, the only man ufacturer approved by the FDA is Sanofi Pasteur, Inc. The period of performance is February 1, 2008 through January 31, 2009 with deliveries twice per year within a six month basis. The Government intends to award orders up to a maximum quantity of 1,000 vials of vaccine within each six month period. USAMRAA intends to negotiate a sole source BPA for the continuation of services with Sanofi Pasteur, 1 Discovery Drive, Swiftwater, PA 18370-9100. The intent is to make a sole source award pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document exists. Any firm that believes it can provide the stated capability is invited to submit written notification to the Contract Specialist within ten ca lendar days from the date of publication of this notice. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the firms ability to provide the stated capability. Responses received will be evaluated, however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon respo nses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
