This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Intramural Research Program (IRP) intends to solicit, negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis with Nikon Instruments, Inc. for the following items: Nikon C1 Plus Confocal to include: 1 - C1 SHV 3 Scan Head and Controller 3 – Power Cord 1 – Imaging Workstation Supplied with Intel E8500 3.16 GHz Processor, 4GB RAM, Gigabit LAN adapter, USB keyboard and optical scroll mouse, high performance DVI 256MB dsplay adapter (supports two monitors), CD/DVD writer (lightscribe), RAID 1 mirrored 500GB SATA hard drive, with integrated audio and 2 RS232 serial ports. 1 – 24 wide-format TFT active matrix LCD monitor with height, swivel, and tilt adjustment. Connect to PC by one of twi DVI-I connectors (VGA analog or digital). 1000:1 contrast ration with 178Y viewing angle, supporting up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz. 1 – Intel Pro 100S Ethernet Card for C1 1 – Xover Connecting Cable Between PC & Controller 7ft. 1 – EZ-C1 – NIS-Elements AR Bundle with 6D 1 – C1-CU-T detector unit T with 3 high sensitivity, low noise photomultiplier tubes and access for up to two sets of user interchangeable secondary dichroic mirrors and emission filters. 1 – C1-CU-EDB dector board adds two additional detection channels for a third fluorescence channel and/or transmitted light. 1 – C1-LU-3-EX 3-Laser unit with beam steering and beam combining mirrors, new FC type laser coupler, and computer controlled safety shutters for each laser. 1 – Melles Griot directly modulated diode laser. 17mW at 408nm. Capable of full power range modulation with in a single pixel 1 – C1 408 Laser Adapter S 1 – 10MW Solid State 488nm Laser 1 – Melles Griot 1 nW 543nm Polarized HeNe laser with power supply. 1 – C1 scan head dichroic mirror 405/488/543.
