The US Army Research Development and Engineering Command (USA RDECOM), Natick Contract Division, in support of the U.S. Army Soldier System Center (USA, SSC), Kansas Street, Natick, MA 01760, intends to conduct negotiations and award a purchase orde r to Biacore Inc, a small business located in Piscataway, NJ on the basis of other than full and open competition in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation part 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy age ncy requirements. The Biacore unit is the only unit that offers a completely integrated SPR system capable of providing data such as specificity, affinity, kinetic behavior and sample concentration for molecular interactions of small molecules, nucleic ac ids, peptides, proteins, cells, and viruses at any temperature between 4 and 45 degrees. The NSC is seeking to Lease a Biacore T100 Surface Plasmon Resonantor Processing (SPR) Unit, including system installation and new user training, with an Option to ex tend the lease, and another Option to Purchase. The FSC Code for this procurement is 6630, The NAICS Code is 423490; the size standard is 500 employees. This acquisition is subject to the availability of funds. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS howev er, the Government will consider all quotations received within five (5) days after date of publication of this announcement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses is solely within the discretio n of the Government. Any information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
