Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army RDECOM - Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army  Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole sourc e basis with Tecan U.S. Inc., 4022 Stirrup Creek Drive, Durham, NC 27703-3941. This effort is to provide the Government with a High Throughput (HTP) microplate processing system and related equipment. Current research being conducted requires that the sy stem be capable of performing ELISA, modified ELISA, cell-based assays, nucleic acid extraction, bead separations, and any other high throughput assays. The system must also have an open architecture allowing for incorporation of microplate reader (ABS an d fluorescence), plate washer, incubator/shaker, and be fully automated with compatibility of the robotic arm for user independent transitions of microplates to all parts of the overall system. Tecan U.S. Inc. is the only known manufacturer of an HTP system that satisfies all requirements. This system will substantially enhance ongoing research efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.
