This Source Sought notice is provided to alert industry that PM DOD Biometrics, Ft Belvoir, VA, is preparing a formal Request For Information (RFI) seeking information from industry pertaining to the current state of development of tactical biometric collection devices for a hand-held (approx 2 lbs) configuration and a man-portable (approx 10 lbs) configuration. The release of the formal RFI will be forthcoming within 30 days. In the formal RFI, PM DOD Biometrics will be looking for existing systems that meet stated requirements for each configuration as well as an estimated R&D path to meet all requirements. Interested parties that respond to the formal RFI, will be provided a n estimated 60 days to demonstrate their solutions and present a development roadmap. The tentative North America Industrial Classification Code System (NAICS) code is 334111.
