NA The U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center intends to conduct negotiations with and award a contract to Brigham & Women's Hospital, Partner's Gene Chip Array TGechnology Center, 75 Francis Street, Boston, Ma 02115, on a basis of other than full and open competit ion, reference Far 6.302-1(a) for Affymetrix human genechips. The Partner's Gene Array Technology Center, Brigham and Womens Hospital, will: 1. provide 33 Affymetrix gene chips, each containing probes for 39,000 known human genes, as well as 33 Affymetri x test chips; 2. process the specimens provided the the U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine (USARIEM) to render them suitable for gene chip array analysis; 3. perform test chip and run chip analysis on the specimens provided; 4. notify t he USARIEM investigator in the event a test chip shows the RNA supplied is unsuitable for full analysis on a run chip; 5. provide the data to the USARIEM investigator no later than 31 Dec 2003. Brigham and Womens Hospital (through its business unit The Pa rtner's Gene Array Technology Center) is the only know vender with the capability to analyze RNA provided by investigators using the Affymetrix gene chip array system. The services and infrastructure provided by the vendor will allow these experiments to proceed in within the rapid time frame required by these mission essential experiments.
