REQUEST FOR CONSTRUCTION SERVICES PROPOSALS Town of Berlin, Vermont – Gateway Avenue Reconstruction The Town of Berlin invites construction firms to submit proposals for construction services to reconfigure and reconstruct Gateway Avenue located at the Central Vermont Marketplace (fka Berlin Mall) in Berlin, Vermont. Reconstruction of the roadway (currently named Berlin Mall Road) will take place between the entrance at VT Route 62 to the existing Walmart parking lot (see plans). The road will be widened to meet the Town of Berlin standards for on-street parking, including curbing, sidewalks, green belts, street trees and street lighting. Utility infrastructure including a new gravel stormwater treatment wetland and municipal water and sewer facilities are also included in the scope. It is the Owner’s intent to retain a contractor to perform construction of the roadway and utility improvements this summer/fall between July 16th and November 28th. For firms that wish to participate, bid proposals are due and will be publicly opened at 12:00 PM on July 7th at the Town Zoning Administrator’s Office, 108 Shed Road, Berlin, VT 05602. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for June 18th at 10:00 AM. Applicant interviews are scheduled for July 11th.
