This major infrastructure project will expand the current six-lane bridge to twelve lanes in order to improve traff0821051ic flow, strengthen border security, and accommodate increased cross-border commercial and passenger traffic. The City is open to design proposals that either widen the existing structure or construct a new, parallel span—whichever offers the most efficient and feasible solution. As a binational project, the selected firm must coordinate closely with Mexican authorities to ensure alignment in design standards and functionality on both sides of the border. All work must comply with the terms of the approved Presidential Permit, including environmental, structural, and regulatory requirements. The City seeks a qualified firm with demonstrated experience in complex bridge design and international coordination to lead all aspects of the design phase for this high-priority project.
