The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is offering for sale one (1) item.  Item 1 of timber is on approximately 48 acres named the Gate 1 Timber Sale.  Item one (1) of this sale is located on Raystown Lake Project in Juniata Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.  The sale area consists of two (2) harvest blocks which total forty-eight (48) acres. Even-age management practices of shelterwood and overstory removal have been implemented. The primary sawtimber species composition of designated timber consists of yellow-poplar. Previously used haul roads, log landings, and skid trails exist therefore site impacts with respect to new construction will be minimal. Whole tree chipping IS NOT permitted, treetops must remain onsite. An Erosion and Sedimentation Plan and Accident Prevention Plan, including First Aid/CPR certification for each onsite worker, shall be provided by the Purchaser and approved by the Government prior to the start of timber harvesting. In addition, Proof of Pennsylvania SFI® Professional Timber Harvester Training Program for the onsite logging crew lead shall be provided by the Purchaser and approved by the Government prior to the start of timber harvesting.

HARDWOOD SAWTIMBER:  435,828 BF (1/4") International

HARDWOOD PULPWOOD:  960 Tons of pulpwood on approximately 48 acres.

The timber to be sold may be inspected by prospective purchasers. A formal pre-bid tour is scheduled only on Thursday 24 July 2025 please schedule with Project Forester, Glenn Werner or District Forester Andrew Willey.  Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. Thursday 7 August 2025, by the Acquisition, Management, and Disposal Section, Real Estate Office, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510-1011, and then publicly opened.
