The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Rock Island District has a requirement for a Nose Pier Replacement and Bulkhead Recess at Lock 19, Keokuk, IA. The work includes but is not limited to: a base bid and two options. The base bid extends the river wall monolith upstream and includes mobilization, hydrographic surveys, concrete removal above and underwater, mechanical dredging, underwater rock excavation, monolith extension using precast concrete segments and tremie concrete placement, checkposts and other appurtenances, fabrication of protection plate assembly, and electrical work. Option 1 constructs a bulkhead recess in the land wall and includes fabrication and installation of a cofferbox, concrete removal above and underwater, fabrication and installation of a bulkhead recess, concrete placement above and underwater, fabrication and installation a of protection plate assembly, and electrical work. Option 2 constructs the bulkhead sill and includes mobilization, hydrographic surveys, mechanical dredging, drilled shafts, stay-in-place formwork, and tremie concrete placement, and test dewatering of the upstream chamber from the new bulkhead sill to the guard gate, bulkheads will be government furnished equipment.
