You are invited to review and comment on the National Aeronautics and Space Administration
(NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC)’s GLObal Modeling and Assimilation Support
(GLOMAS) solicitation. The principal purpose of this requirement is to provide the maintenance
and development of the GMAO’s Goddard Earth Observing System (GEOS) model and its
application to data assimilation, weather and climate prediction, and various scientific studies.
The work will include supporting the development and validation of individual model
components within the GEOS modeling system; maintenance of the GEOS Climate Diagnostics
Package; the development and integration of external components, such as the sea- and land-ice
models within the GMAO’s GEOS modeling and assimilation system; and supporting the use of
the GEOS modeling and assimilation system for the various applications in numerical weather
prediction, sub-seasonal to seasonal prediction, and decadal climate prediction.
NASA will conduct this acquisition as a Small Business Set-Aside competition. This competitive
acquisition will result in an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the
ability to issue Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) task orders, exclusively to small business concerns.
The contract will have an effective ordering period of 5 years from the contract effective date.
