The State of California, Department of General Services, Procurement Division (DGS-PD) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) to fulfill the State¿s requirements for Medical, Industrial, and Specialty Gases. This solicitation also encompasses the specific gas requirements for the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) in their respective specialties. The resulting contract from this IFB will be mandatory for all State of California departments and will be available for use by participating local agencies. The term of any contract resulting from this solicitation will be for three (3) years. The contract will contain two (2) extension options for one (1) year or portion thereof. If a mutual agreement for a contract extension cannot be met, the contract will expire at the end of the current contract term. All gases supplied under this contract must be newly produced, and of the highest quality. Gases that are recycled, reprocessed, expired, or fail to meet the specified standards will not be accepted. The Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) additionally have unique and detailed gas specification requirements that must be adhered to in order to meet the regulatory and operational needs of these agencies.
