The Town of Barrington (Town) is seeking sealed Bids for the FOOTE-MAPLE NEIGHBORHOOD RESILIENT STREET TREE PLANTING PROJECT. This project includes the procurement of native trees, and their installation on rights-of-way and in front yards set back from the right-of-way; and preparation for trees to be planted by volunteers in front yards set back from the right-of-way. Bids will be received until 11:00 am, EST on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the office of the Department of Planning, Building & Resilience, Barrington Town Hall, 283 County Rd., Barrington, RI 02806, at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read aloud. All bids shall be submitted with one (1) original and one (1) copy that are in one sealed envelope, which should read: YOUR COMPANY NAME plainly marked on the exterior of the envelope as well as ”FOOTE-MAPLE NEIGHBORHOOD RESILIENT STREET TREE PLANTING PROJECT”. Bids received prior to the time of opening will be securely kept, unopened. No bids will be accepted via facsimile or email. No Bids will be accepted after the date/time of the bid opening as listed in the advertisement. All bids should be written in ink or typed. If there is a correction with whiteout or crossed out, the bidder must initial the change. Negligence on the part of the bidder in preparing the proposal confers no rights for the withdrawal of the proposal after it is open. A non-mandatory online Pre-Bid Conference has been scheduled at 10:00 AM EST on Thursday, July 3, 2025. Interested potential bidders should email the Dept. of Planning, Building & Resilience at [email protected] prior to 9:00 a.m. on that date to receive a link to attend. To be given consideration the questions must be received by Wednesday, July 9 at 4:30 PM EST. Any deviation from the specifications must be noted in writing and attached as part of the bid proposal. The bidder must indicate the item or part with the deviation and indicate how the bid differs from specifications. Bid Security in the form identified within the Instruction to Bidders, and in the amount of five (5) percent of the total Bid amount, must accompany each bid. The successful Bidder must furnish a Performance and Payment Bond, in the specific formats as attached herein, both for the full value of the Bid Price, along with all required insurance certificates, within seven (7) calendar days after the award date in order to execute an Agreement. Prevailing Wages will apply to this bid with RI certified weekly payrolls to be submitted to the Town at the time of any invoicing. The contractor must be in good standing with the RI Department of Labor. The successful contractor and sub-contractor(s) shall comply with the provisions of Rhode Island General Laws, (RIGL) Chapter 37 pertaining to the “Prevailing Wage Laws” for all municipal funded projects in excess of one thousand ($1,000) dollars. The RI Department of Labor has accepted the prevailing wage rates as determined by the Federal Wage and Hour Division under the Davis-Bacon Act.
