The City of Millbrae is undertaking a critical rehabilitation project to replace aging conveyance piping and valves serving the Water Pollution Control Plant’s sludge treatment system. The existing valves and associated piping have exceeded their useful life, with several valves reported as seized and inoperable. The scope of work, as described in the bid items, includes the repair of four 14-inch plug valves and actuators, as well as the full replacement of a 14-inch plug valve with actuator, a 6-inch plug valve, a 3-inch plug valve, and a 6-inch check valve. In addition to valve and piping replacement, the project encompasses mobilization, demolition, construction planning, layout, and review. Key support tasks include traffic control, inventory and storage, general safety measures, and the preparation of piping shop drawings, submittals, and a detailed project schedule.
